Question Summary: What should I do when my wife has betrayed me? Question Detail:
With reference of my previous question Fatwa#: 31508. I got a proper reference from your end. But now I am in very big trouble. I am explaining once again ....These days I am very mentally disturbed. I got married 3 month back. From the beginning I noticed that girl is ignoring me. Last month I was shocked to know that girl love someone and still talk to that person. I talk to my wife and ask her why she is doing such things. I was worried why she is still talking to that person. After making pressure on her she also accepted that she had physical relation with that guy. She made sex with that person when it was just 2 month to go of our marraige. She made tauba and promise me that will not repeat again. But I can't trust on her becauae it is her habit of telling lie. I discuss this with me and her family. May parents are saying that I should give TALAQ to her. Everybody in the family is not ready to accept her. For the rest of my life I will be worried and paranoid that my wife had sex someone. Mufti sahab, I am in depression can't decide what I should do. Please advice me in Quran and Hadees light. May ALLAH bless you. Please advice me what I should do.. 1. Should I give TALAQ to her as it is matter of entire LIFE. 2. What can be the best solution of this.
Answer :
In the Name of Allāh, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh. Respected brother in Islam, We sympathize with your situation and understand your predicament. We are truly sorry for the much belated response. The Darul Iftaa was closed for a certain period of time earlier this month, perhaps this is the reason why we did not receive your previous queries. The primary purpose of marriage is to save one from engaging in sinful acts and carrying out those very acts in a manner that will be a means of reward. The stance of Shari‘ah is very severe with regards to pre-marital and extra marital affairs. Furthermore, our response as mentioned in fatwa # 31508 still remains the same. We can only advise you seek the guidance of Allah Ta‘āla by making isitikhārah and therefore make a decision whether or not you wish to stay in this marriage. May Allah Ta‘āla grant you the strength to overcome this predicament. Āmīn.
