Answer :
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh It is desirable for men and women, when there is no fear of fitnah, to make ta`ziyat (offering condolences to the family of the deceased). The method of ta`ziyat is to, whether before or after burial, proceed to the family of the deceased and offer condolences, bring comfort to them, advice them about patience and supplicate for them and the deceased. In Islam, the period of mourning and ta`ziyah is only three days after which it will be makrūh (disliked). There is no particular supplication to be recited in favour of the deceased. You should advise your family members with Hikmah and wisdom to disperse from the family home and rather make supplications and prayers on behalf of the deceased individually. And Allah Ta’āla Knows Best Ismail Desai, Darul Iftaa
