Question Summary:
Speaking in Salah.

Question Detail:

My mother was praying and I was sitting beside her janaymaz. She had fluid coming out of her nose so she requested me for a tissue paper while praying. Will her namaz be invalid because she spoke to me outside her namaz?

Answer :

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

The following two statements seem to be contradicting one another:

  • "She had fluid coming out of her nose so she requested me for a tissue paper while praying."
  • "Will her namaz be invalid because she spoke to me outside her namaz?"
  •
You have not made it clear if she requested the tissue while she was engaged in salāh, or after she completed her salāh.

In principal, if one speaks during salāh, the salāh will be nullified and it will have to be performed again.[1]
