Question Summary: See’ing Umar (RadhiAllahu Anhu) in a dream Question Detail:
I am a 19 year old Muslim female. i saw hazrat Umar (R.A.) in my dream. he was at war in a desert on a horse back. he had a white beard which I think was about chest length. i saw this dream about two years ago. after the war scene the dream swiched over to another scene. hazrat Umar (R.A.) was sitting in front of a group of people. all the people including I were standing in front of him as in prayer. it was still a desert. everything was very gloomy and quiet. then a tall black man came in the area through a black gate which was behind us. everybody standing there parted to give him way out of fear. i tried to throw a white cloth in his way but he stabbed Hazrat Umar (R.A.) with his spear/sword. hazrat Umar gave an expression of pain and opened his mouth but no voice came out. then he took out the spear/sword out of his chest and came over to my side. there was this elevated place beside me which was covered by a piece of an old cloth. a hand of a child about 1-2 y ears old came out from under the cloth and hazrat umar kept the sword in that hand. the child gripped the sword and when he opened his hand he had a cut with blood coming out of it. please interpret the dream for me and what significance it holds for me in my life
Answer :
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh. The ummah has been in constant neglect of the affairs of dīn. The ummah has lost its ghayrah (sense of possessiveness) for dīn. Despite being large in number, anyone can attack weak and downtrodden Muslims without any fear of retaliation or even defence. The flimsy effort that is being made is to no avail. The cries of those in agony are not being answered. If this ummah wishes to turn the tide, then an effort should be made towards the upliftment of dīn. Of course, there will be difficulties in this path. We advise you to stay steadfast on dīn, adopt taqwā, and make du‘ā for the ummah. Raise an awareness of dīn amongst your family and friends. If you have children, raise them with Islamic morals. Have a firm intention to use them for the sake of dīn. And Allah Ta’āla Knows Best Hisham Dawood Student Darul Iftaa Chicago, USA Checked and Approved by, Mufti Ebrahim Desai.
