In the name of Allāh, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Assalāmu ῾alaykum wa Rahmatullāhi Wabarakātuh A person who is not in the state of wudhu is prohibited from touching the letters, pages and the cover of the Qurān[1]. However, he is permitted to recite the Qurān whilst he is not in the state of wudhu, from memory or by looking into the Qurān (without touching the Qurān). He is also permitted to touch the Qurān with cloth etc which is not attached to the Qurān or to the body of the person. (Ad Durrul Mukhtār, , Vol.1, Pg.173, HM Saeed)[2]
(Raddul Muhtār, Vol.1, Pg.173, HM Saeed)[3] If you do not touch the Qurān, it will be permissible to finish the Surah before renewing the wuhu. However, it is preferable for you to renew the wudhu immediately or as soon as possible. And Allāh Ta῾āla Knows Best
