Question Summary: Things women cannot do in her menses Question Detail:
Normally the women periods last for 7 to 10 days in a month before becoming pure (pāk) but if the women bleeds twice or thrice a month due to some problems then what should she do? Which days would be considered as menses and which should she count as bleeding due to inner problems? In this case is it permissible for the husband to come near the wife or is it better not to do intercourse in the bleeding days? How many days gap should be in the duration of two menses cycle? Can the husband touch the rectum of wife with his private part with protection or with finger or can he insert his finger in the rectum during intercourse? Wife is sick and very weak and she is not able to bare the pain of giving birth to more children due to her poor health so is it permissible for her to cut the cervix tube which will stop her from getting pregnant again? Is liposuction permissible in Islam?

Answer: In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh. In the state of menses it is not permissible for a woman to: 1) Touch the Qurān. 2) Recite the Qurān. 3) Enter in the masjid. 4) Perform Tawāf. 5) Offer Salah. There is a difference between the touching the Qurān and reciting the Qurān: Reciting is impermissible as mentioned above. However, touching the Qurān with such a cloth that is not attached to the hand, for example, handkerchief, etc, will be permissible. If a person is using such a cloth which is attached to the body, for example, hand gloves (as mentioned in the query) or using the side of the shirt, etc, it will not be permissible for him to touch the Qurān.
