Question Summary: Permissibility of touching a Tafseer book without Wudhu. Question Detail:
I'm reading a book which has juz amma in Arabic with an English translation, basic explanation of the surah and some basic grammar rules. I know that it is not permissible to touch the Qur'an without wudhu but do I need to have wudhu to touch this book as well?
Answer :
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh. It is permissible to touch a book/Tafseer (commentary of the Qur’an) without Wudhu if the Arabic texts and English translations (of the Qur’an) are lesser than the explanation (commentary) of the Surah and grammar rules.[1] And Allah Ta’āla Knows Best Immad Bin Arshad Student Darul Iftaa California, USA Checked and Approved by, Mufti Ebrahim Desai. www.daruliftaa.net
