1. After urinating it is compulsory to do istibra. Istibra’ is to ensurethat the urine has come out completely. There is no hard and fast way of doing istibra; one may do it in any way he is used to. Some examples include: squeezing out the urine; taking a few steps while holding toilet paper to the private part, coughing, etc.

2, 6: You can place a wad of toilet paper in your underpants so that it absorbs any drops of urine that may come out so that the urine does not besmear your clothes. Before making wudhu and offering salat exchange them with clean ones if need be. Wash your private parts and surrounding areas if besmeared with urine. You do not need to have a shower.

4, 5: In principal a person who is afflicted with the sickness of blood flowing persistently from his nose or urine dripping continuously from his private part or unstoppable releasing of wind or has a wound that does not stop bleeding etc. will be considered as a ma’zoor (معذور) when the following condition is met: A complete time of salaat elapses in such a way that his particular problem does not stop for long enough for him to be able to perform salaat. If such a time is found wherein salaat could be offered, he will not be classified as a ma’zoor and the rules of a ma’zoor will not apply to him. Example of a complete time is from the start of Zuhr to the start of Asr.

The rule in regard to a ma’zoor is that he should make wudu for the time of every salaat. As long as that salaat time remains, his wudhu will remain. However, if apart from this sickness, some other matter crops up which causes wudhu to break, then his wudhu will break and he will have to repeat it.

A person will continue to be classified as a ma’zoor as long as his problem, such as urine dripping, occurs at least once for every salaat time. If an entire time passes in which no urine dripped, the person will not remain a ma’zoor. Now the ruling will be that each time the urine drips, wudhu will break.

A ma’zoor who has the problem of dripping urine does not have to wash the urine off his clothes or body if he believes that if he washes it, it will drip and besmear his clothes or body again before he is able to complete his salaat.

(Bahishti Zewar – vol. 1, pg. 62)
