Father committing Zina

assalamoalaikum imam saheb. .my parents are merried from around 43 years. since last 7 years my father has been doing zina with different prostitutes. only i knew about that,i told that to my mother and there had been alot of tension in house because of it. now again my father does zina secretly with some other lady frequently,and i know about what he is doin. kindly guide me how i should treat him and what does islamic teachings say about this issue. thanks

Answer :

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. 
As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh. 
 
There are two issues.
1.      Respect for your father.
2.      Resent the sin.
While you resent the sinful act of your father, it is still compulsory upon you to respect your father. His sinful act is no justification for you to resent him and be disrespectful to him. You may indicate your resentment to his sinful act in a responsible way without being disrespectful to him. You should pity your father for the condition he is in and apply your mind how you could assist him in coming out of the sin. Consider discussing the issue with some responsible and pious person in the area who could offer practical and appropriate advice and could also help reform your father.
Also, make lots of Dua to Allah to grant Hidayah and guidance to your father. Never give up. Carry on making effort and Dua to Allah. Allah will put Barakah in your efforts and accept your Dua’s. Our fervent Dua is Allah must change your father and make him pious. Ameen.
