May I keep pictures of the deceased? Question Detail:
I am i a practical Muslim and i do try to follow the Quran and Sunnah all the time. Therefore I Have few questions to ask.My first question will be-
1 : Is it allowed to have a death persons ( A girl-very good friend of mine,we were meant to get married with both of our parents permission )Pictures and videos on the social networking sites(facebook) or even in an album on the personal computer? More specifically, if some one keeps any dead persons picture or videos then is it gonna put any bad consequences on that dead persons HEREAFTER ?
Answer :
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.
It is prohibited to have a relationship with any non-mahram woman. Despite the woman being your future fiancé, it remains unlawful to talk and look at the woman until you two are married. Furthermore, it will be impermissible to keep pictures or videos of the woman in discussion or any reference person by any means possible. However, this will not effect the deceased but you will remain sinful.[1]

أَقُولُ: وَالظَّاهِرُ أَنَّهُ يَلْحَقُ بِهِ الصَّلِيبُ وَإِنْ لَمْ يَكُنْ تِمْثَالَ ذِي رَوْحٍ لِأَنَّ فِيهِ تَشَبُّهًا بِالنَّصَارَى. وَيُكْرَهُ التَّشَبُّهُ بِهِمْ فِي الْمَذْمُومِ وَإِنْ لَمْ يَقْصِدْهُ كَمَا مَرَّ۔۔۔(قَوْلُهُ أَوْ لِغَيْرِ ذِي رُوحٍ) لِقَوْلِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ لِلسَّائِلِ " فَإِنْ كُنْت لَا بُدَّ فَاعِلًا فَاصْنَعْ الشَّجَرَ وَمَا لَا نَفْسَ لَهُ " رَوَاهُ الشَّيْخَانِ، وَلَا فَرْقَ فِي الشَّجَرِ بَيْنَ الْمُثْمِرِ وَغَيْرِهِ خِلَافًا لِمُجَاهِدٍ بَحْرٌ (قَوْلُهُ لِأَنَّهَا لَا تُعْبَدُ) أَيْ هَذِهِ الْمَذْكُورَاتُ وَحِينَئِذٍ فَلَا يَحْصُلُ التَّشَبُّهُ
