Asaalaam Aleykum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuhu. 1. Is it halal to use sex toy such as a vibrator to aide in having a mutual pleasure with husband to stimulate the outer private parts while engaging in intercourse? 2. If permissible, does it matter if the woman directs it on the location herself or is it only allowed for the husband to use on the wife?
3. Are various sexual positions allowed during intercourse between husband and wife as long as it is not involving anal penetration which I know is not permissible and Islam? To my understanding I've always thought no matter how the husband approaches the wife talk sideways back is permissible as long as he does not
enter the anus. Please Clary these issues and may Allah reward you immensely.

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.
Haya’ (modesty) is an integral part of our Deen. Rasulullah Sallallahu alayhi wa Sallam has mentioned in a Hadith,
والحياء شعبة من الإيمان…
…And shyness is a branch of Iman. [Al-Bukhari. Muslim 2:3]
It is thus important for us to maintain Haya’ at all times and not adopt any immoral habits and traits.
1) It is permissible to use sex toys to stimulate the outer part of the vagina during intercourse provided the following conditions are met:
1.1) The toy must not be harmful in any way to the spouses, for inflicting harm upon your self is unlawful,
1.2) The toy must not have an animate figure to it,
1.3) It should not be inserted into the inner-private part of the women; rather only such toys should be used that stimulate the outer private parts, such as the clitoris,
1.4) The tool of intercourse is the private organ of the Man, thus usage of any “aids/toys” can only be to complement this tool and not to substitute it,
1.5) The toy must not contain any Haraam ingredients,
1.6) One should not fall into Haraam when obtaining the product by entering adult gift shops or places where pornographic material is displaced.
2) The toy can only be used by the husband and not by the wife herself [1].
3) It is permissible for the husband to approach his wife in any position as long as he avoids anal sex [2].
Allah Ta'ala says in the Qur'an,
نساؤكم حرث لكم فأتوا حرثكم أنى شئتم وقدموا لأنفسكم واتقوا الله واعلموا أنكم ملاقوه وبشر المؤمنين
Your wives are a place of sowing of seed for you, so come to your place of cultivation however you wish and put forth [righteousness] for yourselves. And fear Allah and know that you will meet Him. And give good tidings to the believers. (Surah al-Baqarah, V 223)
