Question Detail:

When a person is making Tawaaf and is not kissing the Hajer e aswad i.e. when you standing far and can’t touch while making Istilām, is kissing the hands Thābit? 

Answer :

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.
The act of kissing the Hajar-e-Aswad (Black Stone) is called Istīlam.[1] While kissing the Hajar-e Aswad, ones hands should be on the wall of the Ka’ba in the same position as when one performs a Sajdah (prostration) during a prayer. If it is not possible to kiss the Hajar-e-Aswad, it is permissible to just touch it with a hand and if that is not possible then face towards Hajar e aswad raising the hands while reciting the Kalimah, Takbeer Tahmeed and Durūd, thereafter kiss the hands, as mentioned in Fatawa Qadhi Khan .[2]
