Asalam Alikum, Dear Imam, i would like to ask about a person who has hair transplant and intend to go to Hajj. During hair transplant, surgeon takes a strip from back of your head which leaves a prominent scar. This scar will be very much visible when you will shave your head which is compulsory during Hajj. i would like to know your opinion about this and what should such a person do? Jazak Allah and may Allah increase your knowlegdge .
Answer :
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh. A person has two options regarding the cutting of his hair in order to terminate the Ihram. A person may either shave the entire head or trim one fourth of his hair. However, the Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam has made 3 Duaas of mercy upon the person who shaves his head and only 1 Duaa for the person who merely trims his hair. It is Sunnah to shave the head while performing Hajj. However, it is compulsory for a person to trim at least one fourth of his hair in order to terminate his Ihram. In your case, if you do not feel comfortable in shaving the hair due to the scar on your head, you may trim at least one fourth of your hair to terminate your Ihram.
