Intercourse during Nifaas

Question Detail:

I delivered a baby weeks ago and my husband and I had intercourse. I know I was wrong and it's a sin on my part but I was carried away by fear that if I hadn't allowed it, he would be tempted to be unfaithful outside our marriage. What should I do to repent?

Answer :

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.
Your question is unclear. Was there still Nifaas (post natal bleeding)? If you were still in Nifaas, having intercourse would be Haram and you and your husband would have to make sincere Tawbah and beg Allah Ta’ala for forgiveness and never repeat such.
If the Nifaas had stopped, then intercourse would be permissible and there would be no sin.

"وأكثره" أي النفاس "أربعون يوما" لأن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم وقت للنفساء أربعين يوما إلا أن ترى الطهر قبل ذلك "ولا حد لأقله" أي النفاس إذ لا حاجة إلى أمارة زائدة على الولادة
