Fasting on Friday Question Detail:
I made mannat to keep 15 continuous fast for passing my test and I started to keep fast as well but now it is Friday and somebody told me that we cannot keep fast on Friday so my question is can I keep my mannat fast on Friday? If not then I cannot really have continuous 15 fasts.
Answer :
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
It is permissible to fast only on a Friday. One should not regard fasting on a Friday as compulsory.
In your case, you will be fasting continuously in which Friday will come in between. In Ramadhaan, many Fridays come in between the fardh fasts.[1]

كَرِهَ بَعْضُهُمْ صَوْمَ يَوْمِ الْجُمُعَةِ بِانْفِرَادِهِ، وَكَذَا يَوْمُ الِاثْنَيْنِ، وَالْخَمِيسِ، وَقَالَ عَامَّتُهُمْ: إنَّهُ مُسْتَحَبٌّ لِأَنَّ هَذِهِ الْأَيَّامَ مِنْ الْأَيَّامِ الْفَاضِلَةِ فَكَانَ تَعْظِيمُهَا بِالصَّوْمِ مُسْتَحَبًّا، (بدائع الصنائع في ترتيب الشرائع) 79/2
وَأما صَوْم يَوْم الِاثْنَيْنِ وَحده وَكَذَا صَوْم يَوْم الْخَمِيس وَحده وَكَذَا صَوْم يَوْم الْجُمُعَة وَحده فَإِنَّهُ لَا يكره وَقَالَ بَعضهم يكره لِأَنَّهُ خص هَذِه الْأَيَّام من بَين سائرها، وَعَامة الْعلمَاء قَالُوا بل هُوَ مُسْتَحبّ لِأَن لهَذِهِ الْأَيَّام فَضِيلَة فَكَانَ تعظيمها بِالصَّوْمِ مُسْتَحبا وَإِنَّمَا يكره إِذا كَانَ فِيهِ تشبه بِغَيْر أهل الْقبْلَة وَلم يُوجد فِي هَذِه الصيامات (تحفة الفقهاء)344/1
