Question Summary: Do we have to do Tauba and is the nikah valid? Question Detail:
My name is -------------and i live in -------, I have married a ----- Lady who was following buddhism before. I married her in ----- 2012 in a Shariah Court with 2 Witness and the Judge being her Vali. She coverted to ISLAM in February 2012 before i married her. Before she covert to Islam, i make Zina with her (but after she convert, i never even touch her, because Islam states that any body who converts to Islam, all their previous sins are forgiven and i did not want to make her sin after she become Muslim). My Question is Even though before she covert to Islam, i make Zina, but after she covert to Islam and till the time i married her, i never touched her also, is Our Nikkah Valid. Because we not make Tauba. Is it necessary both of us have to make Tauba, since she is a convert all her prvious sins would already be forgiven? If we have to make our Nikkah Halal and Valid, do we have to Make Tauba and Make Nikkah again, following the same process of going to an Imaam with two witness? Since the Shariah court has already given us our marriage contract certificate last year if we have to go back to make again, it will be doubtful to get a new contract made in the court. Please Advice, what best way we can Make our Nikkah Pure and Clean in the Eyes of ALLAH subhanwu tala and also For My Wife being Halal to me and I being Hala to my wife, since we are planning to have a baby, even that must be of a Halal Relationship.
Answer :
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh. Your wife accepted Islam – Alhamdulillah. If you also made sincere taubah for your immoral acts, be rest assured Allah Ta’ala is All Forgiving. Your nikah with your wife is valid. If you are blessed with a child through this union, the child will be legitimate and pure.
