Answer :
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.
All power and might belongs to One Allāh Ta’ālā alone. He is the Sole Owner, Creator, and Master of the entire universe. Whatever occurs anywhere in the universe happens only with His permission and His command. All knowledge belongs to Allāh Ta’ālā alone. He is the only knower of the unseen. His knowledge encompasses everything that took place, is taking place and will ever take place in the future. Everything is already recorded by Allāh Ta’ālā. There is no force on the face of earth that can ever change the decree of Allāh Ta’ālā. The above-mentioned belief is the basic, fundamental belief of every Muslim. This belief is the demand of the Kalimah “Lā Ilāha Illallāh Muhammadur Rasūlullah”. Upon having such a strong and enrooted belief in one’s heart regarding Allāh, a Muslim is never affected by his surroundings in terms of fear and hesitation. The entire creation may come together to harm someone, but if the will of Almighty Allāh is to protect him, he will never be harmed. Hence, you should not pay attention to anything your family tells you regarding the hindu man in reference. He does not know the future. Only Allāh Ta’ālā knows the future. He is a helpless creation of Allāh who does not even know when he will die himself, let alone knowing when someone else will be afflicted. A Muslim should never pay attention to such false and deviating calls. Allāh Ta’ālā alone is the sole protector. Rasūlullāh Sallallāhu Alaihi Wa Sallam has taught us many Duās (supplications) in Ahādīth that attract the help and protection of Allāh. A Muslim is always equipped with the protection of Duās that are more powerful than anything one can imagine. Hereunder are a few narrations containing Duās taught to us by Rasūlullāh Sallallāhu Alaihi Wa Sallam:
Rasūllullāh Sallallāhu Alaihi Wa Sallam said, “If a man recites the following Duā upon leaving his house, it is said to this person, “You have been guided, you have been sufficed for, and you have been protected.”[1]
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ تَوَكَّلْتُ عَلَى اللَّهِ، لَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللَّهِ (سنن ابى داود، بَابُ مَا يَقُولُ إِذَا خَرَجَ مِنْ بَيْتِهِ) Transliteration: Bismillāhi Tawakkaltu A’lallāh Wa Lā Hawla Wa Lā Quwwata Illā Billāh Translation: I (leave my house) in the name of Allāh. I have placed my trust in Allāh. There is no power or might except with Allāh.
Rasūlullāh Sallallāhu Alaihi Wa Sallam said, “Whosoever recites the following Duā three times every morning and every evening, nothing will harm him.”[2]
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الَّذِي لَا يَضُرُّ مَعَ اسْمِهِ شَيْءٌ فِي الأَرْضِ وَلَا فِي السَّمَاءِ، وَهُوَ السَّمِيعُ العَلِيمُ (سنن الترمذى، بَاب مَا جَاءَ فِي الدُّعَاءِ إِذَا أَصْبَحَ وَإِذَا أَمْسَى) Transliteration: Bismillāhilladhī Lā Ya Dhurru Ma’asmihi Shaiyun Fil-Ardhi Wa Lā Fis-Samāe Wa Huwas-Samīu’l-A’līm Translation: In the name of Allāh, the One with whose name nothing in the heavens and earth can harm. And He is All-Hearing and All-Knowing.
Rasūlullāh Sallallāhu Alaihi Wa Sallam stated, “Recite Surah Ikhlās, Surah Falaq, and Surah Nās (the last three Surahs of the Qurān) three times morning and evening. This will be sufficient for you against everything. (Sunan Abī Dāwūd)[3]
Ibn Abbās Radhiyallāhu Anhu states that a man complained to Rasūlullāh Sallallāhu Alaihi Wa Sallam that he is often afflicted with calamities. Rasūlullāh Sallallāhu Alaihi Wa Sallam stated to him, “Recite the following Duā (once) in the mornings. Nothing will afflict you.” The man recited these words and there were no more calamities. [4]
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ عَلَى نَفْسِي وَأَهْلِي وَمَالِي (عمل اليوم والليلة لابن السنى) Transliteration: Bismillāhi A’lā Nafsī Wa Ahlī Wa Mālī Translation: In the name of Allāh (I seek protection) for myself, my family and my wealth. Ensure that you recite these supplications on a daily basis. Have trust in only Allāh Ta’ālā. When such great treasures from the Ahādīth of Rasūullāh Sallallāhu Alaihi Wa Sallam are available for our protection, then it is a great injustice to turn elsewhere for protection and assistance. Lastly, it is important to note that the true desired effect of these supplications will manifest itself when one fulfills all of his obligations to Allāh such as five times daily Salāh, Fasting in Ramadhān, yearly Zakāh, and Hajj. Also, it is imperative that one must stay away from the disobedience of Allāh to the best of one’s capabilities. We make Duā that Allāh Ta’ālā grant you peace and comfort in every stage of your life.
