Question Summary: Is there penalty of damm if strands of hair fall while in Ihram? Question Detail:
My question is regarding Umrah. On Umrah visit I was in Ihraam and while having my lunch one hair from my beard accidently came into my mouth and got plucked or broken . Do I need to pay anything for that or my Umrah is valid. Also my kids were with me of age 2 and 5. I use to do tawaf for Umrah holding my younger kid aged 2 on my shoulder and she also use to play with my beard. Although I know to my best that none of my hairs (head and beard) was plucked but please advise what should be done if it get plucked.
Answer :
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh. Whilst in the state of ihram, if one strand of hair from your beard fell off involuntarily, then there is no penalty (damm).[1] If you are certain that no hair fell off, then you do not have to give any penalty (damm).
