Distance between feet in Salaah.

Some people in our masjid stresses so much about keeping the feet close and making the saff in salah, that they even liteerally step on our feet. i feel that i'm unable to concentrate in our namaaz. Please help me.
1.How close should our feet and shoulders be kept to keep the shaythan away? Should the skins touch?
2. I wanted to ask another question regarding giving my wife her haqq sexually, where can i ask such question?
I'm a shafiee.
