Question Summary:
Was my Nikah valid?

Question Detail:

Please advise if my Nikah is valid. 
 
- 2 MALE MUSLIMS witness was present
-my fater in law was my Wali, my parents were on skype and he asked my father to act as my gaurdian. My father said yes
-My husband and I agreed to get married
-As for the Mahr. My husband and i agreed it will be 5000 dirhams. He had no money at the time so we agreeded he will give me the money at a later date. When the Sheikh asked me, I said I recieved 2000 dirhams, so under this impression we agreed my husband will pay me the rest at a later date.
 
Please let me know if the Nikkah is valid since we werent honest with the Sheikh and i didnt revieve any Mahr on the day of the Nikkah.

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.
Based on the information given in query, your Nikah is valid. Your dishonesty in mentioning the details of Mahr did not render the Nikah invalid. [1] 
Make istighfaar for providing false information to the Shiekh.

[1] (بَابُ الْمَهْرِ) :

(وَيَصِحُّ النِّكَاحُ وَإِنْ لَمْ يُسَمِّ فِيهِ مَهْرًا) ؛ لِأَنَّ النِّكَاحَ عَقْدُ انْضِمَامٍ وَازْدِوَاجٍ لُغَةً فَيَتِمُّ بِالزَّوْجَيْنِ، ثُمَّ الْمَهْرُ وَاجِبٌ شَرْعًا إبَانَةً لِشَرَفِ الْمَحَلِّ فَلَا يَحْتَاجُ إلَى ذِكْرِهِ لِصِحَّةِ النِّكَاحِ

 

لَمَّا ذَكَرَ رُكْنَ النِّكَاحِ وَشَرْطَهُ شَرَعَ فِي بَيَانِ الْمَهْرِ لِأَنَّهُ حُكْمُهُ، فَإِنَّ مَهْرَ الْمِثْلِ يَجِبُ بِالْعَقْدِ فَكَانَ حُكْمًا لَهُ، وَالْمَهْرُ هُوَ الْمَالُ يَجِبُ فِي عَقْدِ النِّكَاحِ عَلَى الزَّوْجِ فِي مُقَابَلَةِ مَنَافِعِ الْبُضْعِ، إمَّا بِالتَّسْمِيَةِ أَوْ بِالْعَقْدِ. وَلَهُ أَسَامٍ: الْمَهْرُ، وَالصَّدَاقُ، وَالنِّحْلَةُ، وَالْأَجْرُ، وَالْفَرِيضَةُ، وَالْعُقْرُ. لَا خِلَافَ لِأَحَدٍ فِي صِحَّةِ النِّكَاحِ بِلَا تَسْمِيَةِ الْمَهْرِ، قَالَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ {فَانْكِحُوا} وَالنِّكَاحُ لُغَةً لَا يُنْبِئُ إلَّا عَنْ الِانْضِمَامِ وَالِازْدِوَاجِ فَيَتِمُّ بِالْمُتَنَاكِحِينَ، فَلَوْ شَرَطْنَا التَّسْمِيَةَ فِيهِ زِدْنَا عَلَى النَّصِّ. فَإِنْ قِيلَ: الْمَهْرُ وَاجِبٌ شَرْعًا فَكَيْفَ يَصِحُّ النِّكَاحُ مَعَ السُّكُوتِ عَنْهُ؟ أَجَابَ بِقَوْلِهِ (ثُمَّ الْمَهْرُ وَاجِبٌ شَرْعًا) يَعْنِي أَنَّ وُجُوبَهُ لَيْسَ لِصِحَّةِ النِّكَاحِ، وَإِنَّمَا هُوَ لِإِبَانَةِ شَرَفِ الْمَحَلِّ (فَلَا يَحْتَاجُ إلَى ذِكْرِهِ لِصِحَّةِ النِّكَاحِ) فَإِنْ قِيلَ: هَذَا دَعْوَى فَلَا بُدَّ لَهَا مِنْ دَلِيلٍ. قُلْت: دَلَّ عَلَيْهِ قَوْله تَعَالَى {لا جُنَاحَ عَلَيْكُمْ إِنْ طَلَّقْتُمُ النِّسَاءَ مَا لَمْ تَمَسُّوهُنَّ أَوْ تَفْرِضُوا لَهُنَّ فَرِيضَةً} [البقرة ٢٣٦] حَكَمَ بِصِحَّةِ الطَّلَاقِ مَعَ عَدَمِ التَّسْمِيَةِ، وَلَا يَكُونُ الطَّلَاقُ إلَّا فِي النِّكَاحِ الصَّحِيحِ، فَعُلِمَ أَنَّ تَرْكَ ذِكْرِهِ لَا يَمْنَعُ صِحَّةَ النِّكَاحِ
