In the name of Allāh, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Assalāmu ῾alaykum wa Rahmatullāhi Wabarakātuh It is permissible to give zakāh to one’s son in law,[1] on condition he is a legitimate recipient of zakāh.[2] (i.e. At the time of receiving zakāh, apart from miqdāri qaradh (the amount of debts) he is not a sāhib nisāb.) 1 (Raddul Mukhtār Vol.2, Pg.346, HM Saīd) 2 (Hidāyah, Vol.1,Pg.205) When a person will be regarded as a sāhib nisāb? and for other basic rules on zakāh search for Fatwā #14969 and #17114 on www.askimam.org OR “who is entitled to receive zakāh” in Bahisti Zewar. And Allāh Ta῾āla Knows Best
