Eels are a type of fish, hence, it will be permissible to eat eels.

(Al-Ikhtiyār, vol.5, pg.464, Darul Arqam)^[3]
Allamah Damiri has also concluded that eels are a type of fish.
(Hayātul Hayawān, Vol.1 , pg.225 ,Dārul Fikr)^[4]
