Question Summary:
Are new methods of surgery imitation of kuffar?

Question Detail:

AOA, I know imitating kuffar is not allowed in Islam. I am a doctor in a Muslim country. Recently I saw a non Muslim doctor telling about a procedure he "invented" to have a better surgery on a patient. Now if I copy that method and apply it on my Muslim patients to make surgery better, will that come under heading of imitating kuffar? Thank you

Answer :

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

Bother in Islam,

It is permissible for you to adopt the surgery procedure invented by the non-muslim doctor. That is not tashabbuh as the invented procedure is not a salient feature of non-muslims.[1] [2]
