Question Summary: Article on Fir‘awn’s Qualities Question Detail:
i was reading forwarded articles about firaun, then i realised that the article may have wrong information so kindly clarify on this; that article is as follows; Do you know why Allah did not give firaun misery? firaun was so cruel, but Allah did not give him a bad cause, because he had two good qualities. 1. firaun used to wake up early in the morning. Whoever rises before sunrise does not have misery in his life. But whoever sleeps until sunrise Allah gives him bad cause in his life. 2. firaun did not waste food. Firaun did not waste food, so Allah did not give him a bad cause. Whoever wastes food, Allah gives them the poverty. FirAun was the enemy of Islam, and Allah did not give him poverty because of these two qualities. So we, as Muslims, have to follow these two qualities in our lives. is there any proof to this article.and is it true that Allah gives us poverty if we wake up (sleeping after fajr prayer) after sunrise or we waste food.
Answer :
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.
At the outset, it is incorrect to state that Fir‘awn did not experience misery and a bad cause. A person who foolishly claims divinity like Fir‘awn will definitely experience the worst form of misery. Anything that goes against its natural cause and temperament will experience imbalance and ultimately disaster as in the case of Fir‘awn. He claimed to be the highest lord, but he ended up drowning in the Red Sea finally accepting and saying, “I believe in the Rabb of Harun and Musa,” but that was too late.
One does not experience peace and happiness by being a king and having all the resources of comfort and happiness. Fir‘awn was always uneasy due to the charges and challenges made by Musa (‘alayhis salam) against him.
It is also incorrect to state that Fir‘awn did not experience bad causes. Fir‘awn actually experienced the worst causes that were never experienced by anyone.
Consider the following verse:
فَأَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمُ الطُّوفَانَ وَالْجَرَادَ وَالْقُمَّلَ وَالضَّفَادِعَ وَالدَّمَ آيَاتٍ مُّفَصَّلَاتٍ فَاسْتَكْبَرُوا وَكَانُوا قَوْمًا مُّجْرِمِينَ (الأعراف: ١٣٣)
So We sent upon them the flood and locusts and lice and frogs and blood as distinct signs, but they were arrogant and were a wicked people. (Surat al-A‘raf, 7:133)
There was no good at all in the life of Fir‘awn. We do not draw any inspiration from such a mushrik in anything of our life. We resent him for his kufr and shirk.
One can save himself from misery and bad causes only by submitting oneself to Allah and adopting the sunnah of Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam). The guidance of Allah and the sunnah of Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) is more than enough to inspire us and lead us to peace and happiness and avoid misery and bad causes. We do not need the evil life of Fir‘awn to understand this.[1] [2] [3]
