Elder sibling must get married first

Assalamualikum mufti saab, I am 28 year old working in software company india. I am praying 5 times and following sunnah. But the problem is my marriage is getting delayed due to my elder brother. My parents are eagerly looking out but not succeeding. I was not able control my desire and not able to sleep in night till 1 pm( but i am not doing anythink wrong like masturbation,due to this i am not able to sleep ). So please advise what should i do? I can't explain this to any one.

We take note of the contents of your query. We make du’aa that Allaah Ta’aala makes it easy for you.

This custom and notion that the elder sibling must get married first before his/her younger siblings has no basis in Shari’ah. If the younger sibling is of age and/or a suitable match is found for the younger sibling, then it is incorrect to delay the marriage.

We advise you to identify a person who has influence over your parents and request him to intervene. In the meantime, we advise you to keep fasts to control and minimize your desires^[1].
