Question Summary: Difference between backbiting and complaining? Question Detail:
Assalamu alaikum
Answer :
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.
Brother in Islam.
1.] Allah says in the Holy Quran;
Translation:
“Allah does not like that evil should be expressed openly except by him who is oppressed. Allah is All hearing, All knowing.” [Surah-Nisa 148]
An oppressed person may speak about the oppression to avert the oppression or to warn others and not just to slander the person.
If you have been oppressed by the person in reference, then you should take the issue to the authorities who may bring justice to you.
When we look at the lives of Sahabah, we observe that if they committed any mistake they would admit it and repent due to their consciousness of the Akirah. They never looked at the fact that they were Sahabah. An Ameer of Jamaat is no where near the Sahabah.
You query refers: “In tabligh there is claim Allah (swt) should see a person with 70 rahmat to go in jamat”
This is not proven from any hadith. Though going in jamaat is a virtuous act but certain claims made by some ignorant brothers of jamat are incorrect. Our Akabir of Tabligh never made such statements.
We advise you to address these issues privately with the senior ‘Ulama’ of tabligh in your local/district markaz. They will be more suitable for rectifying the mistakes of the Ameer. For the time being, continue working towards the upliftment of Deen. The incorrect attitude of the Ameer should not deter you from taking part in the noble work of Tabligh.
At times a small action of negligence by a doctor claims the live of the patient. However we still consult doctors, express our trust in them and do not blame the whole medical industry. The misconduct is only attributed to the negligent professional and not to the profession. In the same way if the ameer in reference has done wrong to you, then he will be held accountable in the court of Allah no matter what status he holds in the jamaat. The noble work of tabligh which is engaged in transforming millions of lives should not be blamed for the Ameer’s wrongdoings.
2] We advise you identify an Ahl-ullah[saintly person] as your spiritual guide for your spiritual upliftment and guidance.
