Blood or Steroids?

Question Detail:

I am an orthopedician. There is a treatment method for regional pain where 5ml blood is taken from the patients body,  is centrifuged and the upper layer (platelet rich plasma)  is injected to the area of pain the patient has. This is an established method at present.  There are alternative treatment methods available like steroid.  But in certain body areas steroids are contraindicated.  
If the patient has an option for using steroid and PRP,  and PRP has an advantage over steroid,  would it be permissible to use this form of treatment,  in view of blood being injected back into the body?

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh. 
It is permissible to use the PRP (platelet rich plasma) treatment in the absence of a viable alternative. If treating with steroids may be harmful, engaging in the PRP treatment will be preferred.[1]
