I have a question regarding mortgage based interest. My father bought a house 25 years ago which we currently live in. The house was initially around £30,000, but because he was always late on making payments he is in arrears. The total price for the mortgage has gone up to £65,000. The problem we have now is he doesn't live with us, but the house is still registered under his name. My father is making some payments and I'm also contributing... My father has told me to register the house under my name, but I refused to do so, because of the interest. The question is am I sinful for dealing with interest or is my father accountable. Should i carry on contributing... So far we have managed to pay off £3500.
