Question Summary: The Halal certification/seal in this age of excessive fraud, deceit and cheating does not necessarily imply that the food products are Halal Question Detail:
I AM LIVING IN A ISLAMIC COUNTRY WHERE FROZEN CHICKEN ARE USED IN OUR HOMES&RESTUARANTS,EVERY CHICKEN PACKS HAVE HALAL SEAL.BUT WE ARE NOT AWARE IT IS TRUE OR NOT SO IS IT OK TO EAT THIS TYPE OF CHICKEN WITH THE REASON ITS HALAL CERTIFIED?
Answer :
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh The Halal certification/seal in this age of excessive fraud, deceit and cheating does not necessarily imply that the food products are Halal. We understand that much of the meat products distributed and sold in the Middle East are imported from countries like Brazil, Argentina and Australia. The Halal nature of such imported meat cannot be confirmed especially after receiving reports on the dubious nature of the Halal certification of their products. One should conduct an independent investigation in order to ascertain the Halal nature of the products. You may also contact a reliable Alim/Islamic Organization to enquire regarding the Halal status of the products. Alternatively you may enquire regarding locally produced meat products and personally verify the Halal nature of the products.
