I want to know that what is amount of rakah for qiyam lay? 2 or 4 and what is sunnah timing for premiering this salah? also do we make said saw for mistakes in sunnah or nafl salah too?

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Assalāmu ῾alaykum wa Rahmatullāhi Wabarakātuh Question 1
The time for Tahajjud begins after Esha Salah and extends upto Subah Saadiq .However; it is more virtuous to perform Tahajjud in the latter portion of the night.
Rasulullah Salallahu Alayhi Wasallams habit of performing Tahajud Salah would vary. At times he would sleep and perform Tahajud in the beginning part of the night, at times in the middle of the night and at times in the last portion of the night. The hadith below displays the general practice of Rasulullah Salallahu Alayhi Wasallam:
عَنْ كُرَيْبٍ، مَوْلَى ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عَبَّاسٍ، أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّهُ، بَاتَ لَيْلَةً عِنْدَ مَيْمُونَةَ زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم وَهِيَ خَالَتُهُ فَاضْطَجَعْتُ فِي عَرْضِ الْوِسَادَةِ، وَاضْطَجَعَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم وَأَهْلُهُ فِي طُولِهَا، فَنَامَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم حَتَّى إِذَا انْتَصَفَ اللَّيْلُ، أَوْ قَبْلَهُ بِقَلِيلٍ أَوْ بَعْدَهُ بِقَلِيلٍ، اسْتَيْقَظَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَجَلَسَ يَمْسَحُ النَّوْمَ عَنْ وَجْهِهِ بِيَدِهِ، ثُمَّ قَرَأَ الْعَشْرَ الآيَاتِ الْخَوَاتِمَ مِنْ سُورَةِ آلِ عِمْرَانَ، ثُمَّ قَامَ إِلَى شَنٍّ مُعَلَّقَةٍ، فَتَوَضَّأَ مِنْهَا فَأَحْسَنَ وُضُوءَهُ، ثُمَّ قَامَ يُصَلِّي. قَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ فَقُمْتُ فَصَنَعْتُ مِثْلَ مَا صَنَعَ، ثُمَّ ذَهَبْتُ، فَقُمْتُ إِلَى جَنْبِهِ، فَوَضَعَ يَدَهُ الْيُمْنَى عَلَى رَأْسِي، وَأَخَذَ بِأُذُنِي الْيُمْنَى، يَفْتِلُهَا، فَصَلَّى رَكْعَتَيْنِ، ثُمَّ رَكْعَتَيْنِ، ثُمَّ رَكْعَتَيْنِ، ثُمَّ رَكْعَتَيْنِ، ثُمَّ رَكْعَتَيْنِ، ثُمَّ رَكْعَتَيْنِ، ثُمَّ أَوْتَرَ، ثُمَّ اضْطَجَعَ، حَتَّى أَتَاهُ الْمُؤَذِّنُ، فَقَامَ، فَصَلَّى رَكْعَتَيْنِ خَفِيفَتَيْنِ، ثُمَّ خَرَجَ فَصَلَّى الصُّبْحَ. Hazrat Abdullah bin Abbas (Radiallahu Anhu) nararted: That he stayed overnight in the house of Maimuna (Radiallahu Anha) the wife of the Prophet, his aunt. He added: I lay on the bed (cushion transversally) while Allah's Messenger (Salallahu Alayhi Wasallam) and his wife lay in the lengthwise direction of the cushion. Allah's Messenger (Salallahu Alayhi Wasallam) slept till the middle of the night, either a bit before or a bit after it and then woke up, rubbing the traces of sleep off his face with his hands. He then, recited the last ten verses of Sura Al-`Imran, got up and went to a hanging water-skin. He then performed the ablution from it and it was a perfect ablution, and then stood up to offer the prayer. I, too, got up and did as the Prophet had done. Then I went and stood by his side. He placed his right hand on my head and caught my right ear and twisted it. He prayed two rakat then two rakat and two rakat and then two rakat and then two rakat and then two rakat (separately six times), and finally one rak`a (the witr). Then he lay down again in the bed till the Mu'adh-dhin came to him where upon the Prophet (Salallahu Alayhi Wasallam) got up, offered a two light rakat prayer and went out and led the Fajr prayer.(Bukhari-183) Question 2 Deducing from the various narrations two to twelve rakaats in units of two or four have been be recomended. However , Rasulullahi Swallahu Alaihi Wasallam used to read eight rakaats. See the following Ahadith: Hadith 2 حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْيَمَانِ، قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا شُعَيْبٌ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي سَالِمُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عُمَرَ رضى الله عنهما ـ قَالَ إِنَّ رَجُلاً قَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، كَيْفَ صَلاَةُ اللَّيْلِ قَالَ " مَثْنَى مَثْنَى، فَإِذَا خِفْ الصُّبْحَ فَأَوْتِرْ بِوَاحِدَةٍ ". `Hazrat Abdullah bin `Umar Radiallahu Anhu Narrated: A man said, "O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)! How is the prayer of the night?" He said, "Two rakaat followed by two rakaat and so on, and when you apprehend the approaching dawn, offer one rakaat as witr."[Bukhari: 1137] According to Hanafi Madhab, offering one rakaat as Witr would mean that if one fears the setting of dawn (subhu sadiq) while praying tahajud salah , he should add up one extra rakaat to the last two rakaats which will considered to be his Witr salah. . حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو جَمْرَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ـ رضى الله عنهما ـ قَالَ كَانَ صَلاَةُ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم ثَلاَثَ عَشْرَةَ رَكْعَةً. يَعْنِي بِاللَّيْلِ. Hazrat Ibn `Abbas Radiallahu Anhu Narrated: The prayer of the Prophet (ﷺ) used to be of thirteen rakaats, i.e. of the night prayer [Bukhari: 1138] Similarly, in the above mentioned Hadith, one will perform ten rakaats of tahajud in units of two and the remainder three will be read as Witr . حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ، قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْرَائِيلُ، عَنْ أَبِي حَصِينٍ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ وَثَّابٍ، عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ، قَالَ سَأَلْتُ عَائِشَةَ ـ رضى الله عنها ـ عَنْ صَلاَةِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم بِاللَّيْلِ. فَقَالَتْ سَبْعٌ وَتِسْعٌ وَإِحْدَى عَشْرَةَ سِوَى رَكْعَتَىِ الْفَجْرِ. Hazrat Masruq Radiallahu Anhu Narrated: I asked Aisha about the night prayer of Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) and she said, "It was seven, nine or eleven rakaats besides the two rakaats of the Fajr prayer (i.e. Sunnah).[Bukhari : 1139] Therefore one will read either four,six or eight rakats of tahajud in units of two and eventually adding up three rakaats of Witr which sums up to seven, nine and eleven respectively.
