Please answer this.
Jazakallaho Khaira

Answer :

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

In principle, the simple reason for bringing an alif after such words is:

  •  To prevent the (و) from getting separated from the body of the word.
  •  To prevent ambiguity between two words for instance يدعو is the Sigha Wahid Muzakar Ghaib and لم يدعوا  andلن يدعوا   are the Sigha Jama Muzakar Ghaib with a Harfe Nasiba or Jazima. To differentiate between the two an alif has to be brought.
  • The alif itself is superfluous but it has to be brought for the above reasons. This Alif is called Aliful Wiqayah or Aliful Fasila
However these rules and principles of Sarf do not apply to the Quran. One should remember that just as the words of the Quran were revealed by Allah, so is the orthography of the Quran. To oppose this orthography is violating the consensus of the Ummat. Therefore although the Qaida of Sarf is as stated above but because the rules of Sarf were laid down after the revelation of the Quran, therefore the orthography of the Quran itself is not governed by the rules and principles of Sarf. Rather the experts of Sarf use the classical Arabic prose and poetry to compile the rules of Nahw and Sarf and the Quran is the highest form of prose. Imam Ahmad bin Hambal says that opposing the Uthmani orthography is Haram even in a single (و) or (ي) or (ا)
